		<description>Thanks for your valuable input, Rick. It&#039;s good to hear your opinions. I&#039;m getting the sense from readers that there is a real undercurrent for doing less testing and more performance-based observation and I think this is a great trend. 

I hope that those of us who are designers of instruction can try to push for alternative ways of measuring learning, though in some cases, such as in the medical arena, lives are at stake and testing knowledge is important. But comments like yours are inspirational.</description>
